What is Cagrilintide?
Cagrilintide is a synthetic, long-acting amylin analogue developed for investigation in weight-management studies. Amylin is normally released alongside insulin and participates in appetite signaling. Results from cagrilintide alone must be distinguished from studies of combinations such as cagrilintide plus semaglutide; they are not the same intervention.
What has research examined?
In a sponsor-funded, randomized phase 2 study, 706 participants were assigned to various cagrilintide groups, with separate liraglutide and placebo groups. At 26 weeks, mean body-weight change under the authors’ trial-product estimand was greater in cagrilintide groups than pooled placebo. Gastrointestinal adverse events, including nausea, were more common in cagrilintide groups than placebo. This describes a defined clinical-trial product and population, not a generic research vial. FDA explicitly states that cagrilintide cannot be used in compounding and has not been found safe and effective for any condition.
Trial results do not demonstrate that a supplier’s vial has the same identity, quality, formulation, or safety profile. Regulatory restrictions and adverse-event differences matter. This page does not provide dosing, preparation, administration, or a purchase recommendation.

Calculation boundary
FDA states that cagrilintide cannot be used in compounding under federal law, is not a component of an approved drug, and has not been found safe and effective for any condition. A vial-specific U-100 conversion here could be mistaken for preparation or use guidance for an unapproved product; this profile therefore gives research context only.
