What is Cortexin?
The therapeutic name Cortexin refers to a lyophilized extraction of animal cerebral cortex. Published descriptions include neuropeptides, amino acids, and trace elements rather than one pure sequence. Other unrelated proteins also carry the word “cortexin” in scientific literature, so source and formulation context matter.
What has research examined?
A laboratory study examined caspase-8 inhibition and glutamate-injury outcomes in neuronal cultures. A small, placebo-controlled regional trial involving 62 people with acute ischemic stroke reported favorable changes on assessed neurological measures; another multicenter study with 272 participants reported benefits under its schedules. These papers studied a particular formulation and clinical setting. Their abstracts alone do not establish broad clinical efficacy, independent replication, or equivalence of a differently manufactured research mixture.

Calculation boundary
Cortexin is a multi-component animal-cortex extract, not one peptide with a single defined mg-to-molecule equivalence. A generic syringe conversion could imply comparability among differently sourced or manufactured mixtures that has not been established.
