What is Human Growth Hormone (HGH)?
Human growth hormone is a pituitary protein hormone involved in growth and metabolism. FDA-approved recombinant versions are marketed under the generic name somatropin in particular prescription products. A molecule name alone does not establish product approval, biologic potency, delivery-device compatibility, or suitability for any person or animal.
What has research examined?
A small controlled trial studied recombinant human GH in adults with documented deficiency and assessed body-composition and metabolic outcomes under medical supervision. Current approved labeling, such as Norditropin, specifies particular indications, solution strengths, delivery context, contraindications, and warnings. These findings and instructions cannot be assigned to a differently sourced research vial.
Evidence for diagnosis-based prescription use is not an anti-aging or physique claim. An independently supplied vial does not inherit the approved product’s manufacturing, dosing, or safety profile. This page offers no preparation, conversion, amount, or administration advice.

Calculation boundary
Somatropin products differ in formulation, delivery device, labeling, and applicable units. A generic research-vial/U-100 conversion cannot safely substitute for exact-product prescribing information or infer IU-to-mg equivalence for an independently sourced vial.
