What is Retatrutide?

Retatrutide (LY3437943) is designed to stimulate three hormone receptors: GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon. It should not be conflated with tirzepatide, which targets GIP and GLP-1, or with mazdutide, which targets GLP-1 and glucagon. An investigational clinical product is not equivalent to a supplier vial.

What has research examined?

A 338-participant placebo-controlled phase 2 trial reported dose-group-dependent weight change at studied endpoints, with adverse effects predominantly gastrointestinal. Later phase 3 programs are product-specific and do not establish FDA approval. FDA has issued concerns and enforcement action regarding unapproved retatrutide products marketed outside the clinical development setting.
