GLP-1 outcomes research

Semaglutide

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist studied in large randomized trials and supplied in particular FDA-approved prescription formulations. That does not approve a supplier powder vial.

Why there is no compound calculator on this page

Approved semaglutide products differ by formulation, route, concentration, and delivery device. A generic powder-vial/U-100 calculator cannot replace exact-product labeling or verify an unregulated supplier vial.

Research overview

What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a modified GLP-1 analogue with specific prescription injection and oral tablet products. Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus product claims and instructions are not interchangeable and do not automatically apply to research material.

What has research examined?

The randomized STEP 1 trial enrolled 1,961 adults with overweight or obesity without diabetes and found greater weight change with the studied once-weekly semaglutide product plus lifestyle intervention than placebo. FDA-submitted Wegovy labeling addresses approved indications, formulation, contraindications, and warnings. Supplier material is outside that evidence and quality system.

Important limitation

Clinical trial outcomes and prescription labels require controlled manufacturing and specified populations. No weight-loss treatment, amount, injection, or reconstitution advice is given.
