Skin-formulation research

SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3)

SNAP-8 is acetyl octapeptide-3, a cosmetic peptide investigated in multi-ingredient skin formulations. Results for those products do not establish a standalone injectable treatment.

The cited study used a multi-ingredient dissolving skin patch, not a generic injected vial. A syringe calculator would imply an unsupported route and product equivalence.

Research overview

What is SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3)?

Acetyl octapeptide-3, marketed under the shorthand SNAP-8, is studied as a cosmetic skin ingredient. It is distinct from acetyl hexapeptide-8 (Argireline). The peptide’s presence in a formulated patch does not isolate its contribution from co-ingredients and delivery system.

What has research examined?

A small comparative study in 24 healthy subjects evaluated a dissolving microneedle patch containing acetyl octapeptide-3 plus other active ingredients against a hyaluronic-acid placebo patch. It reported wrinkle and skin-barrier measures favoring the formulated patch. The study did not test plain SNAP-8 powder alone or syringe delivery.

Important limitation

Multi-ingredient and small-sample findings cannot establish effectiveness for a supplier vial. No injection, amount, cosmetic regimen, or preparation is recommended.
