What is Thymogen (Glutamyl-Tryptophan)?

Thymogen is a defined two-residue glutamate-tryptophan peptide discussed in thymus-extract research. It is not a synonym for Thymalin’s animal-derived mixture or thymosin alpha-1’s 28-residue sequence.

What has research examined?

A primary experimental study evaluated whether synthetic Thymogen could substitute for accessory T lymphocytes in splenic hematopoietic-colony formation. Chemistry work later used Glu-Trp as a platform to prepare related peptidomimetics, which are distinct derivatives. Neither line of work demonstrates clinical immune treatment for a generic supplier vial.
