Selective amylin receptor agonist research

Eloralintide

Eloralintide is an investigational selective amylin-receptor agonist studied in a controlled obesity trial. Outcomes for a manufacturer’s trial formulation do not establish the properties of a research vial.

Research overview

What is Eloralintide?

Eloralintide is a peptide drug candidate designed to stimulate amylin receptor pathways involved in appetite regulation. It is distinct from cagrilintide and from GLP-1 receptor agonists; studying related metabolic endpoints does not make these substances interchangeable.

What has research examined?

A randomized, placebo-controlled phase 2 study enrolled 263 participants without type 2 diabetes across several studied eloralintide groups and a placebo group. Over 48 weeks, the authors reported larger mean body-weight reductions in trial-product groups than placebo. The trial was funded by its developer. Nausea and fatigue were frequently reported, with rates varying considerably among study groups. These data concern the exact clinical-trial intervention and do not validate independently sourced material.

Important limitation

A phase 2 result does not establish regulatory approval, broad long-term safety, or equivalence of a supplier’s research vial. The different adverse-event rates are important, and this page does not recommend any amount, treatment, preparation, or administration.

Calculation boundary

The calculator performs concentration arithmetic only when a user enters a mass and liquid volume. It does not verify identity, formulation, purity, sterility, stability, compatibility, biological-unit equivalence, or whether reconstitution applies to a particular product. Do not convert IU or other biological units to mg without an authoritative, exact-product relationship.
