What is GHK-Cu (Copper Peptide)?
GHK stands for glycyl-histidyl-lysine, a three-amino-acid peptide that can bind copper(II) to form GHK-Cu. The sequence differs from AHK-Cu, which begins with alanine. Copper association, formulation, and route matter; findings for a topical material or test chamber do not transfer to an unverified injectable vial.
What has research examined?
A cultured-fibroblast experiment reported changes in collagen synthesis under tested GHK-Cu conditions. Rat wound-chamber work measured connective-tissue components after GHK-Cu exposure. These are laboratory and animal endpoints, not proof of healing in people. FDA flags potential immunogenicity and peptide-impurity or aggregation concerns for compounded GHK-Cu administered by injectable routes and states that available human safety information for such routes is inadequate.
Collagen measurements in cells and wound chambers cannot establish patient benefits or justify an injectable route. A supplier’s GHK-Cu vial is not validated by the studies. This arithmetic tool cannot assess copper binding, formulation, safety, or appropriate use.
